I know I used this blog mainly to complain and for some of my readers this may read as a sad blog, but that has never been the intention of this blog, actually this blog was supposed to be a real narrative of my adventure in this great country!
So I will try to go back to it...I wil try to be more cheerful and happy...as I promised someone very dear to me I will enjoy life more! (or at least try)
the only problem of this amazing plan is that I am a pessimist by nature, I truly believe that if something bad may happen it definetely happens to me...and this my friends, this is a huge block on the way to happiness...
today i decided to play along with this and against all odds I didn't go to work, and why? Because there is a 24h strike in the London underground and I was sure that if I endure the 2 hr journey (in a a normal day- God knows how long in a strike day)to work I would probably get there by the time I was supposed to leave....so today I am working from home!
just to prove my point that things always happen to me hear this one...
approximately 1 month ago i left home as I always do exactly 45 minutes before 9 I took the train as I always do...2 stations into the trip I heard the unpleasant announcement " ladies and gentleman, there is a signal failure we are experiencing severe delays, costumers are advised to take another line..." Fine I thought, I was just in a interchange so I said I change to this one...not great but good enough...and what happens?? surprise surprise...1 station into the trip we stopped in between stations, so in the dark part of the tunnel, and we listen the unwanted announcement " ladies and gentleman there was a passenger alarm in the train in front of us we will be on the move asap" well asap in London apparently is 45 min...after that we listen " ladies and gentleman, please hold tight we will be doing an emergency manouver" 1 min later half of the costumers in the train almost fall and we are being evacuated by walking 2 trains from the inside of the train up until the platform....what happened to the person that pull the passenger alarm I have no idea I hope nothing to serious, what happened to me? well i reached work at about 10.30 am completely sweaty and so annoyed that i can't even describe it with words...
so u see, this is just one of the unbelivable situations that I get myself in to...today i stayed home...i am sure If I went to work by bus I would most likely end up walking the 12 miles to work! lolololol

Issues of London
I was going to write about something really serious and important but I decided that the sadness that we are feeling is already enough so maybe writing about little things is probably better and best!
My life in London has not been a bed of roses...ohhh no siriiiii! this has been a hard journey that I had to endure alone, and no matter what people say, I think living in London is horrible! no matter how many things you can do, how many musicals, how many shops, how many parks...London is most certainly not a place for me...It's one of those places where despite being surrounded by millions (and literally I mean millions) you can feel the self...the loneliness...people in London are cold...
there are about 4 types of ppl living here:
1) the hippster " uhhh living in London is so cool..."
2) the "i don't care what anybody thinks"
3) the families
4) me the " I can't wait to get out of here"...
in London you miss everything, but most important you miss the smile of the nobody in the streets, you miss other ppl...I miss not feeling lonely...
London can sometimes be magic but it can also be so creepy and scary...
I will leave on day, and maybe that day is closer than I thought!

weekend!
It has been some really tough couple of days... I have been missing him...I have been trying to come back to work fully...but it is not always easy...work is going so so...thesis is still going and only so so and will power is going so so...on the other hand gym is going strong...and yesterday OMG...it was tough...I decided to attend a swiss ball class...so far so good...the class was nice and funny and it was semi-hard...but then I decided that staying for an ABS class was ok too...and what a mistake...lololol today I hardly feel anything, or on the other hand I hardly don't feel anything :) every single muscle of my body hearts...from legs to belly to neck to back...every single one of them...hell there are even some muscles hurting that I didn't even know I had! lolololol!
anyway , but as the title of my post says, the weekend is here and I have a very good friend coming to spend the weekend...I cannot wait to catch up, to talk to laugh...I am so glad she's coming...
and that is it!
I wish all my readers a great weekend!
till my next post!

everything changes sooner or later!!
My reality changed again, and once again it changed completely, I am now living in this city of forgotten soul and my other half is living far far away...I begin to think that science is not always this rose bed that we all think it is...granted it is really nice to be involved in disscover stuff, granted it is nice to be able to say, oh you know that med or that vaccine I was involved in its discovery...but then it has the other side, the not so nice side of it...at some point in our lifes, science (the other lady as we like to call it) makes you chose, do you want to have a life or do you want to live for science??? and that, well that it's the part i did not see coming...yes, and you say but you don't have to chose...oh yes you do, may not be now or in a year or two but eventually you will have to chose...and that makes me sad!

London
I have been living in this great city for a while now...and my view of London has changed...now using the tube is normal (but it still annoys me), walking down towards Leicester square and all that is normal...seeing the Big Ben everyday is normal...what still doesn't feel normal is the lack of normality...i know it sounds strange but it's not...for example, someone crashes by bike nobody cares, a pedestrian is run over by a car nobody cares... someone jumps in front of the train and...NOBODY CARES....so that's what I think for me it's still not normal...being a Londoner is nice and strange, hard and easy...and for sure I am still getting used to it!!

the tube...

The tube is one of the nicest things to travel in London no doubts about that...but it has so many wrong things with it as well that it becomes comical...for example, you are supposed to stare at the void, the empty space, but how am I supposed to do that when there's a person 2 cm away from my face? and let's be realistic, which void?which empty space? travelling on the London undergroung gives us the inside knowledge of how sardines feel inside the can....A couple of days ago, there I was reading a book while traveling (yes cause either I read or I am forced to stare at the person in front of me...and of course because I am trying to integrate I read !!), and then, what do I feel? This guy with about 2 meters or so decides that a good place to put his newspaper was on top of my head...and I was wondering...can he see me??? I know I am not exactly tall but ....HELLO I AM HERE!! instead I decided to start blowing at his newspaper...I was upset i felt like yelling...but that's the tube...that's one of the great things of traveling on the tube..another thing that really annoys me on the tube is that the doors open and everybody tries to go in and everybody stays on the door...nobody not a single person makes a move to the corridor...why my GOD??? loads of free space on the corridor and we are all on top of eachother on the door....honestly, the tube is great but dare I say can really really annoy you!!!
So the dare stays here on this blog, WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SMILED AT SOMEONE ON THE LONDON UNDERGROUND??? If you, yes you, if you read this blog, next time you are in London, on the tube please smile at every single passenger, and please don't stare at the void...stare at the person in front of you, or on your left or right...but please STARE at SOMETHING OTHER than the VOID!!!!

Finally!
And FINALLY I got the money from my XMAS cancelled flight... please note that...Xmas passed, Easter passed and only after 4 months, 5 calls, and more than 20 emails later I received the money of my cancelled flight!
Honestly, to give me something thas was mine by right...this budget companies are very good and cheap, but when something goes wrong they have no good solutions and they take forever to take any kind of action...If I learnt anything with this experience is that I will try my best not to fly EASYJET!
